Even though their careers are blooming, all may not be rosy with others. Floral Management asked Joe to describe in an article how floral shop owners should not be pansies in making promotion decisions. The result was this October 2005 article, "Do Designers Make Good Managers."

Society for Online Human Resource Management The perennial discussion of freelance consultants who are working as full-time employees for another company emerged again. When does the freelance-consultant run into a conflict of interest with his employer (who is paying for the aspiring moonlight consultant's salary, desk, telephone and computer?) It's tough to work two jobs, and many who are great at one profession become mediocre at two when moonlighting takes its toll. Joe was interviewed extensively for this article. "Vows Magazine, The Bridal & Wedding Business Journal" is a special publication directed at the small business owners who own and operated bridal shops. In the September - October 2005 issue Joe is featured in an article imploring store managers to encourage salespeople to qualify shoppers by asking five key questions before investing too much time.
